New Artist Spotlight:Thorough

This is truly a small world. Let’s rewind a bit, shall we? While attending Dilla Day Weekend Miami 2016, I had the pleasure of watching  Jay Electronica put on a solid set to the crowd’s delight. During the middle of his set he asked for an aspiring emcee from the city to come up on stage and flex their skill as he is known to give up & coming emcee’s spotlight during his performances. The person turned out to be a Jamaica Queens emcee by the name of Thorough, who definitely gained Jay’s respect during that freestyle session and amazed the unsuspecting crowd that night. Fast forward to a little over a year later. I made another trip to Miami to attend a D.J. Premier vs. Pete Rock show at Side Stage and was introduced to the emcee by a mutual friend. It wasn’t until later in our conversation that he revealed that HE was the emcee I witnessed a year earlier. Since that year has past, Thorough has been busy doing shows namely the one at the Bushwick Collective where he was on the same bill as Jim Jones, Styles P, & Meyhem Lauren. Right now he is busy promoting his latest mixtape “The Definition of Thorough” which has been on repeat since he gave me copy a little over a month ago. He is currently prepping his new album “Thorough Rhymes And Crazy Beats” which is entirely produced by CrazyBeatsP.Be on the lookout for this album which is currently being mixed and mastered, but until then make your way over to Soundcloud right now where you can listen to his mixtape “The Definition of Thorough“. Stand out tracks include the mellow “Failure“produced by Da Real Dane,”Who We Are” ft. Gunst8 N8, & the thought provoking “Evolution” produced by P.R.
